FRTOL Information:

Radiotelephony training & examinations for the Flight Radio Telephony Opertators Licence (FRTOL)

    * FRTOL is required by all aircrew intending to use radio in an aircraft.  The licence is normally gained at a suitable stage during PPL training
    * The purpose of the examination is to ensure that applicants for the licence know the standard phraseology and procedure used both inside and outside controlled airspace, including the emergency and direction finding procedures.  Candidates should have prepared thoroughly for the exams during their flying training and by studying CAP413, the CAA's "Radiotelephony Manual"
    * There is a written test followed by a practical test, both of which can be completed at Exeter Flying Club

Please contact the club for current fees and to make a booking.
